This meeting marked the official emergence of the Boston WCA chapter. The By Laws have been accepted and the chapter recognized by the national organization and membership dues collected for 2016.
A Facebook page will be created to showcase and feature members’ art & events; the newsletter will also offer a feature section towards this.
The group discussed exhibition needs with many members requiring video & installation capabilities and a high level of professionalism. As the group develops exhibition proposals and ideas it will pursue them at places that can accommodate this, such as university galleries, women’s centers and large business settings where a wider audience can be reached.
The next meeting will take place on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2 PM at a member’s home with an Art Share and Potluck of Nibbles & Noshes. We will also discuss direction and focus for potential shows.
The national conference and Lifetime Achievement Awards will occur Feb. 4, 2016 in Washington D.C. Award recipients include Tomie Arai, Helene Aylon, Sheila Levrant de Bretteville, and Juana Guzman.
